Dick Vermeil was one of the greatest “turnaround coaches” in National Football League history.

Not only did he take three losing franchises— Philadelphia, St. Louis and Kansas City — to the playoffs by his third year at the helm, he led the Rams to their only Super Bowl title.

Prior to that, he coached UCLA for two years capped by a Rose Bowl victory over top-ranked and previously unbeaten Ohio State during the 1975 season.

Now he’s making wine in the Napa Valley. The brand: Vermeil Wines of Calistoga.

Trust us, the often emotional Vermeil is as passionate about wine as he was about football — and dedicated to reaching the top of his latest endeavor.

Watch the video above and enjoy the coach’s fascinating stories.
