Continuing GV Wire’s coverage in Washington, D.C., we speak with Valley Congressman Jeff Denham (R-Turlock/Modesto). We touch on what comes next for H.R. 23, the GROW Act by fellow Valley congressman (and office neighbor on the seventh floor of the Longworth Building) Rep. David Valadao (R-Hanford).

Like his Valley colleagues Valadao and Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Denham is optimistic that the water bill can get through the senate and approval from the White House.

Denham also talks about other infrastructure projects he wants to see passed (ports, rail projects).

We also talked about immigration reform and his support for “Dreamers” (those who came into the country illegally as a child). Note: we spoke with Denham before President Donald Trump’s August 2 announcement of his immigration reform bill (the RAISE Act).
